CENTER FOR ADVANCEMENT OF RURAL LIVING

The Center for Advancement of Rural Living is a not-profit 501-C3 organization based in Caribou, Maine. The organization was established in 2011 for the purpose of filling gaps in service for rural populations with a focus on social, economic and cultural arenas. Across all of our programs, we strongly value advocating for our older and disadvantaged community members.

Our Mission

To enhance the vitality of the rural communities by obtaining resources and fostering opportunities for personal growth, employment, education, personal safety and a sense of being considered.

CARL is governed by a voluntary board of directors. Our annual meeting is held in April of every year where new officers are appointed. The board has monthly meetings, with working groups as needed for our projects.

Board members have a diverse background that helps bring expertise and insight from a variety of perspectives, these include banking, health care, agriculture, community development, technology, public relations, grant writing, and social services.
